Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Rural Allied Health Practitioners

 
 

This subsidy scheme is available to assist allied health practitioners involved in rural health in Victoria to participate in conferences and skill development opportunities relevent to the development and provision of rural health services. 


This fund is not available to assist with formal tertiary qualifications. 


Please read the guidelines carefully - this scheme applies to: 


1. Qualified allied health practitioners in rural and remote areas of Victoria (this excludes nurses)
2. Working in the public sector/agencies only

 

APPLICATIONS FOR SUBSIDIES UP TO 30 JUNE WILL CLOSE 5pm FRIDAY 17 MAY 2013 


Applications must be submitted to the VHA no later than six weeks prior to the commencement of the CPD activity.

Frequently Asked Questions -

Can I still submit my application for a subsidy even if it is less than six weeks prior to my course commencing?
Applications will not be accepted if they are received at the VHA office less than six weeks prior to commencing your course.

I would like to apply for a CPD Subsidy for a course after 1 July 2014. How can I do this?

Unfortunately applications for course subsidies after 1 July will not be accepted until the new 2014 - 2015 guidelines have been finalised and placed on this website with the renewed application form and opened for submission

I was told about the CPD Program at a conference I recently attended. Can I apply for a subsidy to help reimburse some of the costs I incurred?
Subsidies will not be granted retrospectively.

What if my profession is not listed?
You are not eligible for a subsidy under this program.

Can I use the CPD Program for a TAFE qualification, such as a certificate or diploma?
The CPD for Rural Allied Health Practitioners Subsidy Program does not offer funding to assist with formal tertiary or VET qualifications.

I am undertaking single-unit study at a university. Can I apply for a subsidy to assist me with funding this?
Unfortunately the CPD Program guidelines do not extend that far.

Can I be granted more than $1,000 for a course or event?
The subsidies are capped at $1,000 per person, per financial year.

Will I receive the full amount of funding I am requesting?
Full funding requests are not guaranteed. Subsidy funding amounts are based on many factors including the volume of applications and even distribution across disciplines and Victorian regions.

Can my colleague and I submit an application together?
You may submit two separate applications to attend the same event. You will both need to provide all of the information requested individually. Please send your applications in separate envelopes, we may not see an application if it is attached to another.

Can I apply for two subsidies at the same time?
You can, providied your applications are submitted six weeks prior, and are on separate application forms. Keep in mind you will not be granted more than $1,000 worth of subsidies during the current financial year.

Why do I have to submit original receipts for everything if I am only claiming for one portion?
Original receipts are required for support in auditing and accounting purposes for each subsidy.
