Beyond the Budget Blues forum presentations now online

Funding is essential to meeting the service needs of Victorians. It must be sufficient in dollar terms and flexible in application. This forum explored these themes as well as how to maximise productivity within the health sector.

The keynote presentation provided by David Rumbens, Director of Access Economics was based on the outcomes and recommendations of the VHA commissioned study by Access Economics – Victorian public hospital funding and productivity. This included discussion of the report’s outcomes and how these can translate to tangible benefits for Victoria’s health sector.

The Victorian Council of Social Service provided a discussion of the the Allen Consulting Group entitled “’How many wheelchairs can you push at once?’ – Productivity in the community service organisation sector in Victoria”.

The Victorian Auditor General’s Office detailed the approach it seeks from health services in their treatment of impaired investments in this year’s financial statements and the financial sustainability in the health sector

VHA CEO Trevor Carr provided an analysis of the Victorian State Budget based on the VHA's submission to the State Budget process.
