First Medicare Locals Established

The first group of Medicare Locals began operating across Australia on 1 July 2011. Four of these are located in Victoria:

• Inner East Melbourne Medicare Local
• Barwon Medicare Local (including half of the Golden Plains LGA)
• Inner North West Medicare Local
• Northern Melbourne Medicare Local
