The VHA Board of Directors

The Victorian Healthcare Association is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of representatives from member agencies and independent members with specialist skills.

The VHA's Board of Directors comprises up to eleven directors, eight of whom are directly elected by the members to ensure representation from the rural, regional and metropolitan sectors and from the community health sector. Complementing the representation from member agencies is a provision for three independent directors appointed directly by the Board. This provides the Board with the capacity to meet its organisational and governance needs and to strengthen the skills mix available to service member needs.

The VHA's Board of Directors directly elects its chair and vice-chair.

The terms of both elected and appointed Directors are two years. Directors are limited to no more than four terms.
