Trevor Carr CEO trevor.carr@vha.org.au
Trevor Carr has been leading the Victorian Healthcare Association, the peak industry association for public health services in Victoria, since August 2006. While in the role, Trevor has developed an agenda of policy positioning that seeks to improve the statement and application of health system policy to the benefit of all Victorians. A recent campaign success is the commitment of the Victorian coalition government to develop a long term service and infrastructure strategy. Trevor is a member of the Victorian Government's Health Innovation and Reform Council, and was on the Ministerial Advisory Committee for the Victorian Health Priorities Framework 2012-2022. Trevor has spent his working life within the Victorian public healthcare sector, and has previously led rural health agencies in the delivery of acute, aged and community health services. Trevor has been directly involved with health service boards for more than 25 years. Trevor also sits as a director on the Board of First State Super Trustee Corporation. Through this role Trevor has developed his skills as a director, and his understanding of the fundamental importance of the role of the Board.

Alice Macklin Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive alice.macklin@vha.org.au
Alice joined the VHA in 2008 and has primary responsibility for the provision of support services to the Chief Executive and secretariat services to the VHA Board of Directors and its sub-committees. She is also closely involved in a range of other functions, including data management, membership and communications. Alice has a background in administration management and project work across a range of industry sectors. Alice works on a part-time basis on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Sara Byers Media and Communications Manager sara.byers@vha.org.au
Sara publicises the VHA's research and advocacy messages, via the media, to politicians, stakeholders and the general public. Sara writes and distributes media releases, maintains relationships with key journalists and communicates responses from the Chief Executive to emerging and ongoing health issues in the media. As the editor of Health Matters, Sara conducts interviews, writes and commissions articles and manages production of the magazine. Sara has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from RMIT and has worked for many years as a journalist and sub-editor. She was a freelance copy editor for the VHA before joining the team part time in 2010.

Alison Brown Clinical Governance Consultant, Australian Centre for Healthcare Governance VHA Population Health Project Manager alison.brown@vha.org.au
Alison is a consultant with the Australian Centre for Healthcare Governance. Alison has over 15 years experience in healthcare in Victoria. She specialises in providing both clinical and general governance services to the healthcare sector which enable organisations to strengthen their governance systems and processes.
Alison has a background as a clinician quality coordinator and project worker. She has a Master of Public Health, is a Primary Health care research evaluation and development fellow of the University of Melbourne, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.
Alison is also the Manager for the Population Health Project which aims to promote a population approach to planning within Victoria.

Tom Symondson Director - Policy and Strategy tom.symondson@vha.org.au
Tom joined the VHA in 2012 to lead the organisation's policy activities and advocacy work. Tom has worked in a range of policy and advocacy roles both in Victoria and in the UK. Before the VHA, Tom worked as a policy advisor with the Property Council of Australia focussed on sustainability, transport and tax policy. Prior to moving to Melbourne in 2011, Tom worked in London as the principle advisor to the head of one of the UK's largest local authorities. In this role, he was responsible for developing policy and strategy across a number of areas including aged care, public health and primary care, as well as education and urban planning. His brief also included communications and external relations. Tom has an honours degree in International Relations and is a PRINCE 2 practitioner.

Eloisa Evangelista Policy Advisor eloisa.evangelista@vha.org.au
Eloisa has a background in clinical healthcare as an Orthoptist. Eloisa completed her Masters in Health and Human Services Management in 2011.
Eloisa is involved in the funding, aged care, oral health and acute services portfolios.

Chris Templin Policy Advisor chris.templin@vha.org.au
Chris Templin completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences in 2008 and has an interest in health promotion and population health. His main area of focus at VHA is the community health sector. Chris also works on the Population Health Approaches to Planning project.
