Role description
In my role as Senior Public Affairs Advisor, I work closely with our members to understand their challenges and the systemic challenges facing public healthcare. I advance the VHA’s policy and advocacy work by engaging directly with government stakeholders and media, and advising senior leadership on media and government relations.
What is your career background and what brought you to the VHA?
My strong interest in storytelling and a curiosity for the bigger picture issues impacting Australia and the world propelled me into a career in journalism. This then led me to business-to-business media, followed by a career in Communications across the Public Service.
A passion for strong media engagement and politics ultimately drew me to a public affairs role with the VHA, which combines the best of both worlds.
What are your hobbies or creative outlets outside of work?
I love running, catching up on my politics obsession through media and non-fiction reading, and going to the cinemas.
