About the VHA 

The Victorian Healthcare Association (VHA) is the peak body supporting Victoria’s public health and community health services to deliver high-quality care. Established in 1938, the VHA represents Victoria’s diverse public healthcare sector, including public hospitals, aged care, bush nursing, and community health services.

Why join the VHA? 

The VHA advocates on behalf of its members on sector-critical issues by engaging and influencing key decision-makers involved in policy development and system reform. The VHA shares strategic insights and policy knowledge with its members through sector updates and executive/board engagement to support them in their strategic planning and operational activities. As well as providing a unified voice for the sector, the VHA delivers value for its members by offering tailored professional development programs, networking opportunities, and informative events.

• Connection with VHA members from across Victoria, allowing your organisation to engage with and learn from the VHA’s extensive member network

• Attendance at member-only events, such as our annual Parliamentary Roundtables and Health Minister's State Budget Lunch  
• Access to member pricing for our professional development programs, such as the Health Board Essentials governance training program  
• Access to VHA resources and services, including member-only access via the member portal on the VHA website  
• Opportunities to meet with VHA staff to receive individualised sector and policy updates

Who can apply? 

VHA membership is open to all public or not-for-profit healthcare organisations that provide publicly-funded healthcare services in Victoria, as well as organisations that have an interest in the Victorian health system.

Membership fee and payment details 

The annual membership period is 1 July to 30 June. The membership fee will be applied on a pro-rata basis (to the current quarter) when membership commences during the financial year. 

Fees are calculated based on member type and your organisation’s gross operating income (GOI) – we will ask you to provide a link to your most recent annual report to help us calculate your membership fee. 

How to apply 

Please complete the new member application form below. Your application will be reviewed to determine your organisation’s eligibility for membership and the appropriate membership type. Applications for membership are subject to VHA Board approval, and therefore may take up to six weeks to process. 

On approval, applicants will be issued with an invoice for the membership fee and be invited to add organisational staff to receive member benefits.
