Primary Care in Community Health Learning Network commences, generating strong interest

Tuesday 04, Jul 2023

In a project that supports health sector capability, the VHA has been funded by the Victorian Department of Health to facilitate a targeted learning network. The aim of the Primary Care in Community Health Learning Network is to support the viability and sustainability of GP-led services through shared learnings and resources, collaboration, practice advice, and activating partnerships.

This initiative is for registered and integrated community health services (CHS) that operate or wish to operate a GP clinic. The learning network is particularly targeted at practice managers, primary care executives, service managers, clinical managers, and operational or strategic decision-makers.

The first learning network forum was held on 14 June, setting the scene for purpose and establishment of the network. There was strong interest, with 38 participants from a range of services from across Victoria.

Based the feedback during the first forum, the learning network dates have now been scheduled for the rest of 2023 and a range of topics are covered.  The next forum is focused on GP workforce recruitment and retention. This forum will be held on Wednesday 16 August, with invites sent directly to those who have registered their interest in the project.
