Introducing Sally O'Neill: VHA's new Event Coordinator

Wednesday 24, Jul 2024
Tell members a bit about your background – where have your career taken you and what brought you to the VHA?

I have over 12 years of experience working in events, managing events for the not-for-profit, corporate and charity sectors. My career has taken me from Sydney to London and Melbourne organising complex high-profile events, from Parades, Boat Launches, Sailing Regattas to Conferences and Gala Dinners. I have a keen interest in Public Health and Health Promotion having recently completed bachelor’s degree in nutrition while raising my family, which attracted me to want to use my varied experience to benefit the amazing work of the VHA.

What are some things you’re working on at the moment and what most excites you about these projects?

Currently I am working on revitalising the Conference for the VHA, to provide a forum for public sector healthcare leaders and attendees across healthcare more broadly. The conference will bring our membership together and look at exploring challenges and opportunities faced by the healthcare system. I am also working on planning and supporting other VHA events, and I am looking forward to working with and getting to know the VHA’s passionate members and the Public Health sector in general.
